Downtown Sarasota

Areas of Sarasota: Islands and Keys

Siesta Key

Siesta Key has two bridges. The South bridge is located off Clark Rd. The North bridge is located off Bee Ridge Rd. Siesta Key consists of condos and single family homes. Living on Siesta Key is your true "beach town" experience.

St. Armand's Key

St. Armand's Key is located near downtown Sarasota, over the Ringling Bridge. It consists of a few condo communities and single family homes. Living on St. Armand's is the dream, with just a walk to St. Armand's circle and the beaches.

Lido Key

Lido Key is on the West side of St. Armands. It consists of a few condo communities and single family homes. Lido Key offers some of Sarasota's favorite beaches.

Bird Key

Bird Key is the little island between the Ringling Bridge and St. Armands. Bird Key has 511 single family homes. Living on Bird Key gives you close proximity to both downtown and St. Armands.

Longboat Key

Longboat Key is off the North side of St. Armands. It consists of both single family homes and condos. Living on Longboat Key offers a country club feel paired with a quiet coastal lifestyle.

Casey Key

Casey Key is just South of Osprey and extends all the way down to North Venice. It consists of only single family homes. Living on Casey Key, you'll find the majority of homes with their own private beaches on the gulf and intracoastal.

Areas of Sarasota: Palmer Ranch

Where is it

Palmer Ranch is an area located in South Sarasota and within Sarasota County. Palmer Ranch is bordered by I-75 to its East side, Clark Rd. to its North side, and 41 to its West side. The South side of Palmer Ranch dips into Osprey.

What's it like

Palmer Ranch is one of the most popular Sarasota residential areas with over 30 neighborhoods. It is known for being family friendly and offering an active lifestyle that appeals to all ages and stages of life. You'll find gated neighborhoods, resort style amenities, maintenance free communities, new construction homes, and more.

what's around

Palmer Ranch is mainly a residential area, filled with neighborhoods. Within Palmer Ranch you'll find Potter Park, the YMCA, the Legacy Bike Trail, and golf course communities. Many of the neighborhoods also include resort style amenity centers featuring dog parks, pickleball, splash pads, pools, tiki bars, sports courts, and more.

Areas of Sarasota: Lakewood Ranch

where is it

Lakewood Ranch is an area located East of I-75, ranging from Bradenton down to Sarasota. Lakewood Ranch is mostly within Manatee County, with a few neighborhoods stretching South into Sarasota County. Lakewood Ranch spans 50 square miles of master planned neighborhoods.

what's it like

Lakewood Ranch has been named the #1 multigenerational community in the US. LWR is its own residential "town" featuring over 20 neighborhoods or villages. Each village offers different lifestyles; such as golf, family geared, luxury, townhomes, and more. Integrated throughout LWR, you'll find an abundance of things to do.

what's around

In between the many neighborhoods of LWR, you'll find many parks, trails, disc golf courses, sports fields, and more. Shopping and dining is found in the "town centers"within the community, along with Main Street and the LWR Farmers Market. Locals also enjoy the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club and the Sarasota Polo Club. Nearby is University Town Center Mall.

Areas of Sarasota: Venice

where is it

Venice is a city, located South of Sarasota, but is within Sarasota County.Venice is just South of Nokomis/Osprey. The majority of Venice is West of I-75 with a few neighborhoods on the East side.

Venice is known as the 'City on the Gulf.' Venice, though smaller than Sarasota, has its own community and lifestyle. It has a little bit of everything when it comes to housing. Beachfront condos and homes, new construction, and more. Venice has an older demographic paired alongside a historic "Old Florida" atmosphere.

Venice is the shark's tooth capital of the world, making Caspersen Beach a popular destination. Venice is also home to a variety of beaches (including a dog beach!), the Venice Downtown Historic District, the Venetian Waterway Park, the Legacy Bike Trail, Oscar Scherer State Park, and more. Venice is full of parks and boasts its outdoor and active lifestyle.

Areas of Sarasota: Downtown SRQ

where is it

Downtown Sarasota is on the West side of Sarasota right along the water. Downtown Sarasota is an area of Sarasota in Sarasota County. It is located South of Fruitville Rd. and North of Bahia Vista.

what's it like

Downtown Sarasota is the perfect combination of modern and coastal. The downtown lifestyle includes both luxury high-rise condominiums, paired with "Old Florida" single family homes, alongside modern new builds. Downtown Sarasota is known for its dining and social lifestyle.

what's around

Downtown Sarasota overlooks the Sarasota Bay with its popular view of Bayfront Park and Marina and the Ringling Bridge. Locals enjoy the outdoor lifestyle of walking the Ringling Bridge, fishing the Sarasota pier, and walking along the bayfront. Others enjoy dining and the arts, which are both plentiful and popular in the area. Nearby, you'll find Selby Gardens, the 10th street boat ramp, McCurdy's Comedy Club, The Van Wezel, and more.

Downtown Sarasota

Areas of Sarasota: West of the Trail

where is it

West of the trail, simply stated, is the area West of US 41/Tamiami Trail. This area is alongside the West coast, close to the beaches, which makes it a desireable location.

what's it like

West of the trail is predominately single family homes. A combination ofluxury neighborhoods, waterfront properties, and some older yet charming Florida style homes. Living West of the trail offers quick access to beaches and a coastal lifestyle.

what's around

West of the trail remains close to the sun, sand, and salt. With close access to boating, kayaking, beaches, and more. West of the trail is also a straight shot down US 41 over to downtown Sarasota, filled with dining and a social lifestyle.

Areas of Sarasota: East of I-75

where is it

East of I-75 is the area of Sarasota that is East of I-75. This is both Sarasota County and also runs into Manatee County. Myakka City also makes up a portion of this area.

what's it like

East of I-75 is known for its quieter andrural feel. Much of the real estate includes properties with acreage both in neighborhoods and outside of neighborhoods. There are also new construction neighborhoods and future development making way in East Sarasota.

what's around

Between the cows, horses, and acres; East of I-75 also remains close to quite a few local favorites. Some of these favorites include: The Big Cat Habitat, The Celery Fields, and Myakka State Park. New shopping plazas and development are popping up East of I-75, however, this area still maintains its rural atmosphere and natural Florida feel.
