Ken Thompson Park is located on Lido Key, just before the island of Longboat Key. It is located next to Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. It's a great place for launching your kayak or paddleboard as it sits right on the Sarasota Bay. Ken Thompson Park also has a boat ramp, fishing pier, nature trails, a playground, picnic facilities, and restrooms. Some even consider this spot a mini beach, though the shore has rocks and shells. Ken Thompson Park also has a mangrove board walk through the mangroves where you'll find some crabs and other natural wildlife. Any park with a view of the Sarasota Bay is a great place to be!
