About the Worthington Community

Worthington is a brand-new, new construction Sarasota community, which broke ground in 2019. Worthington is located a few miles east of I-75 seated on the corner of Palmer Blvd. and Lorraine Rd. Worthington is an intimate neighborhood that will consist of 156 homes, when completed. Split between two builders; half of the community will be built by MI Homes and the other half, Cardel Homes. Worthington offers its residents a gated entrance to the community, a passive park, walking trail, lake, and lawn irrigation all bundled within its low HOA. The community features a sidewalk throughout, tropical landscaping, tile roofs, and driveways and patios lined with pavers to create a finer community appearance and quality. You'll also find gourmet kitchens, high ceilings, open floor plans, and modern designs.

About the Worthington Builders and Floor Plans

The Worthington community is made up of two separate builders. Enter the neighborhood and take a left to see what Cardel Homes offers or make a right and you’ll find MI Homes. Both builders maintain a quality reputation, provide beautiful interior design options, and have desirable floor plans. Both builders provide quick move in homes as well as new builds from the ground up. Both Cardel Homes and MI Homes have done a great job of designing customizable floor plans. The floor plans that are offered have a variety of structural options that you can pick and choose between. Things such as, turning dens into bedrooms, or reducing a bedroom to create a master suite.

MI Homes 

MI Homes was founded in 1976 and has grown to build homes across the US. MI Homes prides themselves in crafting a weather-tight and energy-efficient home with the ability to save as much as 30% on energy bills comparable to a home built to standard code. Floor plans range from 2,136 sq. ft. up to 3,748 sq. ft. with the options of 3 bedrooms up to 5 bedrooms. Garages range from 2 car up to 3 car and MI Homes offers both 1 story and 2 story floor plans. Within the Worthington Community, MI Homes has priced the homes with base prices starting in the 400’s.  (These prices do not reflect lot premiums or home upgrades)

Cardel Homes 

Cardel Homes has been around since 1973, originally established in Canada, and has since made their way to Florida. Cardel uses energy efficient materials  and also offers semi-custom options providing some flexibility within the build of their homes. Floor plans range from 2,507 sq. ft. all the way up to 3,939 sq. ft. with the options of 3 bedrooms up to 5 bedrooms. Within the Worthington community, Cardel has priced the homes with base prices starting from the high 400’s and ranging into the mid 500’s. (These prices do not reflect lot premiums or home upgrades)

About the Worthington Location

Worthington is located in a quiet residential area with surrounding neighborhoods of Artistry, Laurel Lakes, and Laurel Oaks. Sitting on the corner of Palmer Blvd. and Lorraine Rd. in between Bee Ridge Rd. and Fruitville Rd.  Though Worthington sits in a residential location, it has close proximity to shopping, dining, exercise, and more. 2. Rothenbach Park: Rothenbach Park is known for its 5 miles of paved recreational trails. It’s often you find bikers, walkers, and runners among the trails in the natural Florida setting. The park also contains 2 playgrounds and a pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms, and grills. 

3. Shopping Plaza: This plaza is made up of Publix Supermarket at Bee Ridge, Publix Pharmacy at Bee Ridge, Asaro’s Pizza, UPS, and more.

4. Laurel Oaks Country Club: Laurel Oaks Country Club is a members only country club and golf course, located within the Laurel Oaks gated community. However, anyone can join this country club.

5. Tatum Ridge Elementary School: Tatum Ridge Elementary School is an A-rated school within the Sarasota County School District.

6. Big Cat Habitat Gulf Coast Sanctuary: Big Cat Habitat is a local favorite when it comes to things to do in Sarasota. Featuring 150+ animals, shows, petting zoo, and more. Yearly passes make a great attraction for the kids.

7. The Celery Fields: The Celery Fields is another Sarasota favorite. Known for its exercise trails, bird watching, and sunsets among Sarasota’s tallest “mountain.” 

8. Fruitville Public Library: The Fruitville Public Library obviously known for its library, also offers many programs for kids and adults. There are free kids programs including music, play, and stories; as well as, program opportunities for adults.

9. Sun Outdoors: This premiere RV resort offers paid access to some of its amenities which are a big hit in the community. Most commonly loved is the splash pad and waterslide.

10. Fruitville Commons: Fruitville Commons is a new plaza, set to open in 2020. This plaza will include shopping, dining, and more.

11. Shopping Plaza: This plaza is made up of Target, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Five Guys, First Watch, and more.
