Houses for Sale in Sarasota

 

This blog is going to talk about the most expensive Sarasota home sales of 2022. 

We all know prices have been rising, and our Sarasota market has increased by 57% since the start of COVID.  Our Sarasota market is high, which means prices are high, which means these luxury home sales are high. 

So, what IS considered luxury in Sarasota? Typically hitting the $1m mark was often considered luxury, but with the market increase, we have a lot of homes, including new construction community sales, hitting this price point. While many of these $1m price point homes are still stunning luxury homes in grand communities, the luxury market overall is trending itself up to a higher price point. Let’s look at the top 5 luxury sales in Sarasota in 2021, working our way down the list to #1.

 Coming in at the 5th highest sale for Sarasota in 2021 is a condominium. Yes, I said condo. This condo is 4 bed, 4.5 bath, and 5,600sqft. It’s located within downtown Sarasota overlooking the Sarasota Bay. It’s a new construction called Highrise called Epoch. And this property sold for $9, 747,000.

Located on the North side of Siesta Key is a luxury home sold for 12,000,000. This home is 8,600sqft, with 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and 3 half baths in the neighborhood of Fiddler Bayou. This private community only has 11 homes, and this was the only property for sale in 2021.

 Located West of the trail in Harbor Acres, this single-family home has 5 bedrooms, 5 full baths, 2 half baths, and is 6,700sqft. But the real icing on the cake is its Sarasota home for sale waterfront view of Sarasota’s Bay. This home sold for $13,250,000.

#2: In the Sanderling Club, on the south side of Siesta Key, is this beachfront home. And guys, this house truly has its own beach. It comes as no surprise that this 6-bedroom, 6 bathroom, and 2 half bath home of 9,000sqft sold for 14,000,000. This home was only on the market for 99 days. Homes of this size and price can often take 2-3 years to sell. It even has a separate guest home on the property.

 This brings us to the highest sale in Sarasota for 2021. Coming in at 16,500,000 is this stunning home on Casey Key. With a 10-car garage, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 half bath and 8,100sqft. This home even has a separate guest house/party pavilion on the property as well. Casey Key doesn’t have neighborhoods. So, this home stands alone on one of the most unique properties in the area. Why? Well, the house is located overlooking the intercoastal, but the property expands all the way across the street onto its own private beach. Encompassing almost 3 ½ acres total. And like the last, this home sold fast in just 40 days. 

 

 

So, what’s the trend we’re seeing when it comes to the luxury market? These luxury areas are West of the Trail or on Sarasota’s Islands and Keys, Siesta Key, Casey Key, Bird Key, Lido Key, and Longboat Key. The waterfront living is essentially priceless, you can’t really name the price of owning a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
